Comparison Chart/Test Performance
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Shin-Sangokumusou III (Dynasty Warriors) Halo Moto GP
Microsoft's original Xbox specification: 64MB & Pentium III 733MHz (128KB cache) Factory original (slow speed; display smoothness acceptable, but slow timing makes game play uninteresting). Factory original (slow speed; display smoothness is not good, but can start playing game immediately after booting). Factory original (display is smooth; controller response is acceptable). Factory original (speed is acceptable; sound is acceptable; controller response has lag).

DreamX-733 w/ memory upgrade: 128MB & Pentium III 733MHz (128K cache)

Slow speed; display smoothness improved, but slow timing makes game play uninteresting. Slow speed; display is comparatively smooth, and can start playing game immediately after booting. Display is smooth; controller response is normal. Speed acceptable; sound is acceptable; controller response has lag.

DreamX: 64MB & Celeron 1400MHz (256KB cache)

Fast speed; display smoothness acceptable, but not possible to control game timing--increasing difficulty. Fast speed; display is smooth, but 4-5 min. wait for booting. Display is smooth; controller response is fast. Fast speed; display is smooth; sound is acceptable; controller response is fast.

DreamX w/ memory upgrade: 128MB & Celeron 1400MHz (256K cache)

Fast speed; display is smooth, can slightly control game timing, without increasing difficulty. Fast speed; display is smooth, but 3-4 min. wait for booting. Display is smooth; controller response is fast. Fast speed; display is smooth; sound is excellent; controller response is fast.
Conclusion

After carrying out these upgrades, we can clearly see these key points:

1) After upgrading the CPU L2 cache and raising the frequency, game speed and feel are noticeably improved.

2) After upgrading DDR memory (frame buffer), audio/visual effects are noticeably richer.

However, after these upgrades you will still face the limitations of the Xbox's hardware configuration and game software development platform, resulting in waiting times of 3-4 minutes for booting Shin-Sangokumusou III. But even so, the speed upgrade and enhanced audio/visual effect presents a completely new kind of gaming and audio/visual experience f or Xbox fans .
